The NDD Farmers Market
Nothing says summer like the NDD’s Farmers Market in Military Park every Thursday. Check out below, originally posted on Glocally Newark (glocallynewark.com).

“Hey Kiddo, Try my Corn.”

An abundance of delicious kettle corn was set up for customers.
“Hey kiddo, Try my corn,” said the man in a straw hat and legit farmer’s tan standing in front of the kettle korn tent. I actually forgot how much I love kettle corn. Underneath the tent two young men wearing off-white aprons stood over large silver buckets and stirred the popping corn.
I looked around at the kickin’ farmers market at Military Park and felt happy for Newark for a moment. The park was alive with people, sights and sounds. There was an abundance of fresh produce, handmade goods and cupcakes?! (From our favorite artisan cupcake shop, Art Kitchen) The crowd was congregating around the entertainment, a one man show belting out old school tunes. Actually, very entertaining.
I took a moment yesterday to stop by the Washington Park Farmer’s Market and saw a similar vibe. Washington Park however, has an enormous stage, and rumor has it will be hosting some serious talent this summer. They featured singer Charisa and the Soul Evolution.

This was an all day affair with tables set up all over the park.

Fresh produce was everywhere I turned.

Art Kitchen brought their homemade cupcakes, which were a crowd favorite.

Greens covered a number of tables and were both tasty and fresh.

Derek Ware, orchestrator of Washington Park, smiles big for the camera.
